Agapáō
Agapáō love is the treasuring of someone or something that draws us toward connection. It is a love so great that we are willing to do whatever is needed to gain the relationship we seek with that which we cherish.
Agápē
Agápē is not just love—it is the treasury of love. It is the sacred space where treasured relationships dwell, preserved by grace and guarded by truth.
Philéō
Philéō is the freely given offering of oneself in service to another—not as one hired or compelled, but as one moved by affection and delight. It is the evidence of our agapáō: the outward expression of what we value and treasure.

Living True to the Relationship(s) God Desires for Us
Jesus teaches that all the Law and the Prophets depend on two commands:
to love God completely and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Because everything else in the Scriptures flow from these, it’s essential that we understand what we’re truly being called to do.
If we misunderstand the nature of this love—the agapáō we’re meant to have for God and for others—then there’s a strong likelihood that our understanding of everything else will be misaligned.
